I live with my client and cook, clean and do personal care. I administer medication. I book appointments with doctors and hospital. I take my client out to do shopping or to go and socialise. I inform the office if anything changes in my clients needs and change her careplan.
I have just started out on my NVQ level 3. I have learnt a lot about communication and the impact it can have on relationships in the work place. I have also been developing my skills in the office, by assisting my manager with co-ordinading our team and dealing with changes.
I love learning new things and building on what I already know. I believe it is important to learn the skills i am learning, to aid in the care I give to my clients. I find it very interesting to learn all the legal information behind the things we need to do.
My programme is very well organised. I know exactly when all my modules are due and what is required for each and every one. My mentor has regular check ins with me to make sure I am on track. The system is easy to manuvor and very easy to submit stuff.
My employer is very helpful and will provide any help I require, Be it training or shadowing. The office team are always readily available and are happy to assist when needed. They have a website filled with all sorts of training and policy's readily available for me to look at.
They review all the work i submit to them and give me feedback. I find the feedback extremely helpful. My mentor schedules regular teams video calls to check in with me and to breakdown what I need to do next. They also send me material that they believe would help me.
This qualification will help me in many ways to perform better in my role. It will help me understand the legal side of my job role. It will also help improve my current skills in my role, for example, learning about communication and its affects in the workplace can help me to improve my own communication skills.
My work place organise many social events for all employees. We recently had a meet and greet evening for all the carers to meet one another, as we often don't get the chance in our line of work, being carers. We also have a christmas party to look forward to.
Yes
They are so helpful and lovely to work for. They are very accomadating and are quick to resolve any issues that arise. They do check ins to make sure all is running smoothly. Someone is always available to talk to and they listen to what you need. The team are very friendly.
Tips and advise that I would give to others applying for this company would be to be honest. They will support you in any way possible, as long as they know where your skills are at. Anything that you need just ask, the likely hood is they will be able to assist is high.
