The work experience involved, an introduction to the course and then straight in to a meeting with my Supervisors, one of which was a trainee and one a fully qualified solicitor, they were extremely helpful and answered any question I had, we also had tasks which resembled those of a solicitor, these were brilliant and if anything I would want more of them. Then we also had Q and As with solicitors and talks on application tips and what a typical day is like for a solicitor.
Over the course of this week in my work experience we did work on legislation, in particular a task where we wrote our own piece of legislation, this was fantastic and allowed me to use a skill that I have never encountered before, furthermore, We did tasks which allowed me to use debating skills and teamwork and finally I was able to develop my reading skills in a legal sense when looking through an example lease agreement.
I enjoyed my work experience quite a lot particularly for the last 2 days of the programme, I felt that the first couple of days were a little slow, as it was an introduction which potentially covered things I already knew but from the Jaffa cake exercise onwards it was a very enjoyable experience.
The work experience was phenomenally well organised, I received emails updating me prior to the week, everything was there and laid out for me on Forage and any issues I had were dealt with very easily over email.
I learned quite a lot especially in terms of the more laid back atmosphere that there is at Pinsent Masons especially compared to other firms which were talked about.
It just reinforced my already pretty strong ideas about entering this world and it gave me a really good insight on what life would be like as a solicitor.

Yes, there were many opportunities to talk with other students and solicitors during the week, but there weren't really any facilities to keep in touch with solicitors after the programme.
