Participate in engagement teams to help deliver an audit. I mostly collaborate with my team, performing fieldwork and evidence gathering activities to test certain criteria. I attend multiple meetings weekly with my team to have progress updates, and also with clients to gather more evidence and ask questions.
I have developed my communication skills as I currently work with a wide range of people, and via different means, learning how best to effectively communicate on different platforms. I have learnt many skills when performing my day-to-day tasks to help the engagement team in completing the audit.
I find the programme quite enjoyable, I greatly appreciate the experience and skills I have gained. I also enjoy the social side of working in different teams and for different clients. When the work is overwhelming or confusing, it is less enjoyable yet the support network helps me.
The programme is very well organised. I have been informed from the start about all the information necessary. The programme aids me in many areas and there are many ways I can contact the organisers to ask for additional information.
This varies between each engagement team. But often, most senior team members are incredibly helpful in guiding and coaching me each day. They are always available for me to reach out and ask for extra support. Additionally, I feel involved in team meetings and work, which provides extra support.
I receive some support, including materials to help me learn. Most of my support comes from the University which provide lectures and many more learning materials to help me work towards my qualifications.
I feel that I have better background knowledge on the basics of audit and accounting which facilitates a better understanding when completing evidence gathering activities during the audit process.
There are many extra-curricular activities that are available for me to join and they are all advertised frequently. There are also many events (virtual or in person) that celebrate occasions, or spread awareness or are there for educational purposes.
