My role involved working on the audit of various clients ranging from listed to non listed entities. Day to day, i would be managing my own areas of the audit, communicating with clients and other members of the teams and visiting different sites and offices.
I have learnt many new skills particularly, technical accounting skills. My competency for networking and time management has also greatly improved.
I have enjoyed my programme extensively. The satisfaction of working with such highly driven individuals and being responsible for my various areas is immense. Additionally, having a 3 month break from studying is greatly refreshing.
The programme is exceptionally well structured. With PwC constantly coming into my university to discuss what the placement was going to bring and a training programme at the start made the transition very easy.
I received lots of support from my employer. With a wellbeing call in the middle, and being assigned a career coach in addition to a buddy i constantly felt like there was someone i could speak to should an issue arise.
My university team along with ICAEW provide me with lots of support. With lots of resources available and plenty of people to speak to, working towards my qualifications is definitely made easier.
My qualifications definitely helped me perform better in my role. The content in my exams were directly applicable to the work i was doing in my role.
Yes there is lots. I personally got involved in one specific to my religion but i know there is young professional activities and various sport societies.
Yes
In such a short space of time, i have learnt so much from the people around me at PwC. Everyone in the office is your friend and everyone i worked with was always more than happy to give me the support i needed.
My best piece of advise would be to research the firm policies. The firm is built around these policies and every bit of work and every interaction really sees them come through.
