My main role being in my first year of placement consisted mostly of being trained and learning, on a day to day basis I did many different jobs to gain experience. At first it consisted of jobs that would help my understand and learn more about the engagement I was working on and as time when on I started getting more involved.
I have developed many new skills, some being how to work better and more efficiently with excel as this is something that I struggled with coming into placement. I have also developed my communication skills as I would have to work with different people everyday and speak with the client team.
I found this placement extremely enjoyable. Learning in a working environment was great for me and I loved getting hands on experience. I learnt a lot more than I thought I would and even though it was a little stressful at time placement has already further my knowledge more than I could have hoped for.
In my opinion the program is very organised. There was always someone we could speak to if we had any issues or concerns, for example our buddies, career coach and flying start champions. In terms of work it was very structured I always had someone to go to for work and with questions I had
I personally receive a lot of support as there were always people checking in and seeing if I was okay. We also had well being meeting to see if we had an issue and were doing okay. The engagement teams were great and always willing to help and were very understanding with questions
We received more than enough support from the training provider when working toward our qualifications, they were very helpful with us learning in a working environment what needed to be done and if we required time to revise for exam or any help with the theory of accounting they were more than happy to help
I am certain that the qualification earned through our training provider will definitely help us perform better in our role as we are receiving experience very early on and learning how accounting really work. Learning the theory in a classroom is great but having this experience has exceeded my expectations
There were many extra-curricular activities to get involved in, there were always socials happening either in our engagement teams or social groups, which provided a great opportunity to network and meet director and partner in a more casual setting than the office. It also felt like a kind of reward for the work we had been doing.
Yes
PwC has been great for me. I have learnt so much in the short time I was there and I know that they will keep helping me grow into my role and reach my maximum potential. I loved the work that I was doing and the people working there were alway very understanding of the fact that I may not always be too sure on some things and were very helpful
If you are thinking of applying to PwC then I say definitely do it. PwC provide a great working environment and the people that make up the firm are amazing. They will help you grow and reach your maximum potential. If you have the opportunity to work there then don't miss it
