  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoyed it as it meant i was able to go to uni and still have the uni experience that everyone goes on about as well as going on placement and getting paid at one of the top four accountancy firms allowing me to develop my accounting knowledge as well as gain the experience of audit work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very organised as we have set times when we are on placement and are told when we are at university and have lectures before we go on placement and an exam after so you aren't in the dark about exams so there are no shocks along the way.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots of support from PwC as if you are on first placement you have a buddy and then also a career coach who checks up on you and is there for a general chat around the office. There are also flying start champs who have done our course so are there to help if we have any questions or are unsure about anything. In addition, just your team whether that is an associate, senior associate, manager or director they are there to help and will answer any questions you have in relation to work as well as just general wellbeing.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The University give us the ICAEW books as well as lectures on the relevant topics which we then sit an exam in. They answer any questions we have and will provide any extra support if we are unsure about anything.

    6/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The awareness that we have around accounting is a massive help as it means we go into placement having some background knowledge compared to new joiners who have very little or no knowledge at all. This enables us to apply what we learn and for me some concepts made sense after having the real life experience and exposure to this terminology

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are PwC sports teams you can join such as netball, hockey and rugby where they play against other teams as well as tennis or badminton which is played internal. In our industry group we have socials such as crazy golf or bingo and there is an opportunity to help out at student recruitment events offering you experience to try and get more people involved and aware of the opportunities available to them.

  • 9a. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Lots of great people around the office that are helpful and supportive and they are very flexible with you work especially if you have other commitments. Not everything is about work as conversations are also about general interests which enables you to develop meaning full relationships with your colleagues

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Show you have researched the company and are interested in working for them for example due to their values. Say why you think they should employ you such as what you have to offer such as volunteering or representing the company in sports teams.
