  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • My work experience involved me working with prestigious clients and having me produce the best quality audit i could, it involved me developing a number of skills which i can take away and apply on my next placement the following year. • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • It made me become very organised in everything i did, having to balance the work life was the biggest thing i learnt as i have a lot of commitments outside the workplace. It helped me prioritise what is important to me and organise myself in a punctual manner to ensure everything ran smoothly day to day.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • I enjoyed how welcoming everyone was and everyone made me feel apart of the teams i was working on, depsite my ability not being as good as theirs they were all still very respectful and had a lot of patience when coaching me through new skills. Sometimes i didnt enjoy the workload itself and felt stressed at certain times, especially being new there.

  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • The work experience was organised exceptionally, there is ALWAYS someone you can speak to and they will all be happy to help you or even direct you to the right person to speak to. We have our own University leader and you can message them about any issues you have and help you in the best possible way. Brilliant!!

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • The company culture is massive at PwC and they really emphasise this with regular weekly group gatherings to raise awareness over different cultures, peoples backgrounds and really great this diverse and welcoming atmosphere. No matter where you are from or even if you are of minority you will always feel welcome at PwC as everyone has a voice there.

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • It helped me a lot as i was able to cherry pick what i liked and what i disliked and what makes me happy in my life when i was doing placement. It helped me decide what it important to me and what i value, its a different life compared to a University student so it made me see that side of it as well!!

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • yes we were paid a working salary every month, any overtime that we did we also got compensated for and any travel to client sites etc. This really helped especially being a student as money is tight and it just gave us the freedom to not have a job over summer exam season.

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • This was a lot better in comparison to prior year when it was covid and not many people came into the office. This year i went into the office most days, which meant i met lots of new people and familiar faces within the office, I also got put on a different team most weeks meaning i met a lot of new people within such a short space of time.

  • 9a. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a very well respected company and the culture and welcoming environment that they create is second to none. You immediately feel welcome and respected and everyone is so friendly when it comes to helping you, they always have time for you and will be patient when helping you learn something new!

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Go for it!! Its such an amazing company and degree to do, you get paid for placement and instead of taking a whole year out of education you do placement along the way, meaning you get experience as you go through University with a job after it, which i think is massive as a lot of people struggle to get a job after university.
