  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves dealing with staff holiday requests, filing of qualifications, inductions, health and safety paperwork and certificates created by the operatives. Liaising with our clients. Answering and sending emails, planning meetings, overlooking social value and charity events. Corresponding with subcontractors and tenants in regards to planned works.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Developed my understanding of computer systems, built knowledge within social value and charity and gained understanding within the construction sector.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy that my role is diverse. With the different tasks I have to complete each day is different meaning I do not get bored of coming to work. As I get to be involved in a variety of projects, i am constantly learning and developing my knowledge and abilities.

  • I follow a structure to support the variety of tasks I have to complete that incorporates my time to complete college tasks also.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have weekly catch ups with my mentor and I am able to approach staff members at any time who I feel may be able to support me with a tasks I am not sure about.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My course is all online learning. I have 1 one to one catch up and 1 group learning session each month with my college mentor. I am also able to email my mentor at any time if extra support is needed where she will then schedule extra online meetings.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I started this role with no knowledge about business administration, my apprenticeship is nearly over and I have gained a wide range of knowledge from the basics such as scheduling meetings and taking minutes to the more complicated skills such as dealing with HR enquires, monitoring and planning training and liaising with external clients.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there is always plenty of social value activities happening both across the company and in line with our external clients.
