My role is to deliver projects around site, weather that is maintenance, refurbishment, etc. This involves having required knowledge of H&S and a good understanding of engineering terminology
I have learned more about H&S. There are different regulations for various activities that you need to learn, understand and comply with. Moreover, I have been developing my communication skills as well as becoming more confident.
I enjoy my programme a lot. The people here are welcoming and knowledgeable. The work/life balance is amazing and the benefits here are also really good.
At the start it was a rocky ride, there was no structure and not really nothing for me to do. This was because I was the first apprentice of my kind. After about a month it got better.
My employer is very supportive especially around university work and assignments.
A lot. For example, if I need a lower workload due to an upcoming exam, they are very understanding.
The qualification that I will be obtaining intertwines with my job role. It better develops my knowledge for engineering and provides theory
There are various different networks, such as multi-faith network, LGBTQ+, etc. There are sporting activities to get involved in such as a raft race every year as well as charity events for water aid.
