I am a Business Support Officer and works within the school admissions department for Manchester City Council. Deal with parent/carers quires and update an in-house system.
Working on a new system that I had no knowledge about also how to work on different teams and the importance of GDPR in my daily role.
Speaking and working through tasks if I don't understand them also knowing that someone is there to help it's a good thing.
Very well set out and time is used effectively also regular meetings help to explain the next step to take. I find that all areas of the programme is clear and user friendly.
My employer, manager is always helpful and gives me a study day which helps a lot also if a meeting is required I can adjust my time so that nothing is missed. My manager is approachable and also checks on how I am doing on my apprentaship.
A lot as I am dyslexia sometimes certain aspects I struggle with but my training provider helps in everything as it is explained and details are given in a way so I know what is need and what is expected of me.
It has opened my eyes as thinking more and recognising certain situations and what I need to do to rectify the situation. Also looking into the business side of the department I work in and the terminology used within it.
Yes there are lots of different events and clubs the council has sent up anything from health and fitness, walking, running to mental health. Also we have a volunteer day where you can help a charity/cause in the Manchester area. Also at Christmas a general knowledge quiz, and there are social events outside the office night out, meals etc.
Yes
Getting to help and support the people of Manchester in different ways weather giving advice or pointing people in the right direction. Also being a Mancunian I have a bond to this city and want to see it do well.
Know and investigate what your role you want and be open to new challenges, also sometimes it may lead you down a different path. Help and support each other and treat others the way you want to be treated. Try you best.
