Quality control for pharmaceuticals manufactured at AstraZeneca. Includes the ID of organisms, environmental monitoring, microbiological testing etc also support of the 3 teams in the micro department
Learnt all new skills that I hadn’t learnt in college/sixth from, developed team working skills and confidence. Improved all laboratory skills and experience working in a GMP environment
I enjoy the program very much, it is a great place to work, the role itself is very interesting and the people you work with are lovely,
The program is well structured within the workplace, getting to experience 3 different teams over my 3 years, however the university portion is highly unorganised on the side of Kent university
Lots of support, I have access to a mentor and Lots of other experienced technicians to lean on if needed, the apprentice community at AZ is also very helpful if they are needed
I dont receive much support from the training provider, all work is self taught and online sessions are only offered before exams, feedback given on assignments is poor and misleading, my company do support where my training provider cant
Mostly, there are modules that directly relate to my role such as micro and GMP however some modules such as chemistry have no relevance to my role
Club AZ provides lots of opportunities as well as AZ inspire which puts on different events, there is also an apprentice committee who organise events for apprentices across the UK
Yes
It is a great place to work with lots of support, the people are lovely to work with, there are great benefits and I cant speak more highly pg the company
Research out company values and the products that we manufacture this goes a long way in an interview. Also be yourself, this allows the interviewer to know how you would fit in the team and gives you the same confidence
