Maintaining the machines at the manufacturing site involving Preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and condition monitoring, furthermore looking at continuous improvements, not just on machines but on site in general. I also have involvement with planning and scheduling work for the maintenance team and aid ordering parts for jobs. I also undergo regular training courses to broaden my knowledge and qualify me for different jobs, for example working at height, or confined spaces.
I have developed team working skills since being in my job, as regularly i work with a group on big jobs and within this communication throughout the team is key ! this ensures that not only does everything get done correctly and nothing is missed, but also that jobs are done safely with is paramount.
I massively enjoy the programme, i enjoyed my first year in full training at HETA (my training provider) then have thoroughly enjoyed my time at work as its something i enjoy so constantly plough my efforts into expanding my knowledge, And because i like my job so much i put in my best efforts with everything.
The programme is well structured as it is kept nice and simple i have rotated around site to get an overview of the whole of site and learn about a variety of machines, and work with different people. Then once a week i attend college to do my further college course (HNC)
I feel as though in my time i have received support from all levels of management and staff, they have helped to allow me adequate time to complete assignments and job reports and have provided people to help my learning, the support network is vast and helpful. and as there are many previous year apprentices they can help aswell
