My role is to design and sell kitchens. This involves going out and surveying a customers kitchen and designing it to how the customer desirers. I then turn this kitchen design into a quote and then sell the customer their dream kitchen.
When I started the role I had no knowledge on CAD or K8 and minimal knowledge on designing a kitchen so all of the knowledge I have now is what I have gained since starting my job/ apprenticeship.
I love the job of kitchen sales designer and doing an apprenticeship is so helpful because it means I can gain the knowledge and learn while doing the job.
The apprenticeship programme is well structured with regular visits and modules to complete. Sometimes the modules don't seem to be fully tailored to the job role. However the majority of them are which is really good as it helps me better my knowledge.
I always receive endless help and support from my colleagues and employer. They answer any questions I may have and help with anything I am struggling with.
I get a lot of support from my trainer when they come in for my monthly visit. I don't often hear from them between the visits, however I am sure if i needed any support they would be able to give this to me.
I feel like the qualification is helpful to my role because most of the modules are tailored to the job such as the module on Industry Standards which is knowledge I can use within my Kitchen Sale Design role.
