The main focus of my role is to build relationships with our customers, I will call customers from our account base and try to find out what they are doing, what they are doing next and how we can help with this.
Yes, my communication skills/ confidence over the phone has improved massively. My kitchen knowledge has also increased alot!
I really enjoy the job I do, and the apprenticeship side of it is just as enjoyable, I just find it difficult to make time to do the work sometimes.
Howdens is very well organised, we have smashed targets every month. The apprenticeship side of things isn't the most organised to be honest, as i don't have a schedule for when i am supposed to do work, and sometimes i fall behind on the work.
My employer has helped me out a lot when it comes to the actual job, but hasn't given me much support on the apprenticeship side of things.
My apprentice coach has helped me massively, she gives me great advice and helps my confidence when it comes to the apprenticeship.
It helps me get a better understanding of how to evolve a conversation from customer to customer. And it helps my knowledge grow on the admin side of things.
We have a few events at Howdens, one of these is called XPO. This is where people from around the country look at different kitchens and new kitchens.
Yes
Because it is an amazing career opportunity, and has no many different areas of work.
TRUST THE PROCESS, it will take time to adapt to the job, especially if your kitchen knowledge isn't the greatest. You will get there, it just takes time.
