  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Every morning I come into work and I start with doing paperwork from daily transactions, account payments and returns. I then processed to call customers who have a trade amount with us. I call them to make sure they don't need anything and know the offers on.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have built my confidence so much with in my job role. K8 is a big system which I have used within Howdens and I now know how to use the system. This knowledge which has helped me to sell products and help many customers out.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme every much because it has many different aspects to it. Having many different aspects is good because it helps me to expand my knowledge. This is the best thing because it means I learn so many different things in just one job role.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme has great structure which helps me to never be bored or not knowing what I should do. This organisation happens where we have all different programmes which make is simple to do our job and store information we need so that we can complete many different things.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer helps me so much. By always having his door open so I can go talk to him and speak about any issues I may have. He also checks up on me to make sure I am okay. Lastly he also gives me the time for m coursework.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My trainer has given me so many ways to be in contact with him. This is great support because it means that if I ever need help he is there for me. He is always open to answer my questions and help me even if some sound silly.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps me widen my knowledge so that I am able to do better in my current job role. It expands my knowledge with how to deal with customers. This is the most important thing in my role because I deal with customers on a day to day base.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many different activies like, go carting, going out on work meetings and just having time away from work like meals out. There are also many different professional events which helps us all to talk different thing which then helps everyone in the end.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is the most lovely job. Everyone treats you like family and everyone cares for you. Howdens never stops pushing you to what you can achieve. Which makes you see special and cared for.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Howdens?
  • Be yourself! Howdens is a family and they want you to be able to be part of it. Show them what you are best at and show you know you can improve. They love when you know yourself and how you are going to fit in.
