I am a data science degree apprentice. I generally work on a couple of data science projects at a time. In these projects I use tools such as Power BI, Power Apps and Python. I also get one day off to spend on my university studies.
Yes, I have been given the opportunities to attend additional courses and boot camps and I have obtained various certifications as well.
Everyone I have met is very friendly and always willing to help, The work I do is interesting and rewarding and there is an excellent work-life balance.
The programme is quite organised, one day a week is dedicated for university study and development, there are regular reviews with my manager and university tutor.
I receive a lot of support from my employer, I am given numerous opportunities to attend additional courses and pursue certifications, I am also permitted to claim the cost of attending academic conferences and other educational events.
I am given adequate support from my training provider, although they can occasionally be slow to respond to queries.
I believe studying towards my qualification has given me the necessary skills to be successful in my role. Whatever I learn at university is directly applicable to my day-to-day responsibilities.
I regularly go on social events with my team and other apprentices. There are networking events to attend as well, both in person and virtual.
