  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is working with one of IBMs partner clients. I am mainly focused around security. I work with the partner as they are a distributer for IBM products.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have already learnt so much and not even been with IBM for 6 months yet. During my 1 month induction I completed two courses to help my communication and client conversations skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programming. IBM treat me as any other employee and were very welcoming. I am treated with respect and I feel very comfortable talking to my colleagues if there is an issue.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is structured well in my opinion. We were eased into working slowy which definitly helped with the process.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • At IBM we have a foundation manager as well as a task manager. The foundation manager is there to answer questions on the apprenticeship and make sure your wellbeing is okay.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We do have a lot of support when it comes to my university, however they do sometimes feel a little unorganised. They make it clear where you can go for help which is the main thing and so far when I ask my lectures for any help they are always keen.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think at the moment it doesn't help massively but looking at my future modules it will become very useful. As I am working with security, the cyber security module may begin to come in handy.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I believe there are however none that I have got involved in. I regularly get emails about some activities however I personally am not to interester in extra curricular.

  • 9a. Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I feel very valued and supported at IBM. I enjoy working for the company and I know that there are a huge amount of oppurtunities for me in the future.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
  • Make sure you do your research on the company. Know IBMs: Future plans What they are working towards What they actually do And IBMs past All of these are important to know as it gives you a good insight into the company and prepares you for the interview process.
