  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role consists of working on development of the MQ product. This consists of mainly testing of different tools that can be used with the product on appliances. I also am part of the Foundation Techincal Community which involves me with interacting with other technical members of IBM

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learnt quite a few new problem solving skills and new programming languages, in-house and more openly used ones

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I greatly enjoy my programme as it has taught me alot as well as letting me get hands on with actual business based technical experience

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is quite well structured and follows a very simple routine that is very easy to follow

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has provided me with multiple managers, an entire team to rely on for help as well as a buddy that I can come to with questions

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider gives biweekly lectures for each module as well as weekly tasks. There is also a provided mentor and tripartite meetings where support can be given and questions can be asked

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification hasn't met the level of technicality that my job role has but that is to be expected - I expect it to catch up and allow me to learn skills which I can directly apply to my role. I has however allowed me to expand my knowledge of business

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are plenty of extra-curricular activities that I can get involved in in plenty of categories that are widely broadcast through the company social platform

  • 9a. Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because it has been a wonderful experience so far and has provided with tons of support - I don't see why, if given the option, someone wouldn't do it.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
  • Be yourself; take onboard any advice you are given wholeheartedly; always try your hardest to do better
