Since joining the company I have been responsible for a number of tasks within the Chief Information Office. These have ranged from strategic planning for the long term to project management in the short term. I have had fantastic exposure to stakeholders at all levels of the business since joining.
I have developed my communication skills extensively since joining, alongside building my core technical knowledge of project management in a finance/technology world. I have been given the opportunity to communicate with senior and executive leadership since joining and have been given regular opportunities to engage in wider learning internally.
The programme is both engaging and stimulating and it is easy to enjoy day to day. There are significant growth opportunities as a result of being on this programme and I look forward to seeing where my career can go within the company as a result of this going forward.
The programme is structured clearly and this was and is regularly explained to myself and other colleagues on the programme. The company has blended their own internal graduate education programme with that provided by the third party education partner which compliments the work done. The company provides core time for study.
My employer has been nothing but supportive throughout my programme so far and continues to explore opportunities to further my development through both on and off the job training. The company has put set time aside for study and university work as well as internal learning opportunities alongside general work duties.
QA have an excellent academic support structure in place which encourages students to make the most of the course. The course itself is interesting but the manner of delivery did cause concern for me at the beginning as it is all virtually delivered which isn't necessarily the best format for me personally. Other than that QA are excellent.
The core theory of the degree I am on ties in really well with the role I currently undertake at the company. The information allows me to learn on the job with background knowledge that covers why we do what we do the way we do it. This is a massive positive.
The company places great emphasis on social engagement, equality and diversity and this is reflected in the events and communications the company releases. The company operates regular reward and recognition events, promotes social causes and charity time off work, alongside regular team time outside the office alongside professional networking events.
