My role is Junior Software Engineer, an average day currently will be producing code for a client project. This could be either testing or producing application code.
I have learn an incredible amount of new skills, I am now well adept in the programming language Java and many other aspects of programming that come with this such as development tools and mark up languages.
Very much, I joined to learn how to programme and have done exactly this,
I am trusted to represent Capgemini infront of clients and to produce work to a high standard.
Due to the programme being in its infancy when I joined there have been some small teething problems most of which have been quickly overcome by the programme management for the benefit of the apprentices.
Our training is mostly done during our own time and the information involved tends to come from things learnt in personal time or on project rather than from the training provider as we do not have time for lessons with a full time job to handle.
Support from the employer has been good with many training opportunities given to us, however recently with changes to the programme our time given to study has been taken away from us which can make things much tougher.
I currently have no issues with my salary. However, with long hours working away I do feel that there should be more incentive when living away from home.
Yes
