I am an acting head house keeper . I clean rooms this includes the bathroom and bedroom and set up extra beds in room if they are needed . I organise consumables and make sure we have enough of them to get through the week , marking down anything we are low on for management to place next order
I have learnt a lot since joining whitbread , my confidence have grown and I am now able to confidently talk to a customer and resolve any issues that may come up . I am now very good at cleaning making sure that I do not miss anything even the small details . I have learnt how to order linen and which I didn’t know how to do before.
I really enjoy my programme and it is helping me develop more in my position. It is also helping me to learn what I will need to be able to do to progress to my next roll . Everyone is so supporting and helpful so I don’t have to struggle I know they’re always at end of the phone .
The programme is very well organised and structured. It intergrates everything so well and is easy to understand . It explains everything well and in a simple form that I can understand. I think it breaks everything down so well and intergrates the maths and English very well which is also easy to work through
My employers is very supportive, they have sat with me and worked through anything I do not understand and help me understand what I am expected to do . They also help me with my off the job training and provide me with new skills to be able to do this .
My personal trainer is fantastic she is always there at the end of the phone if I need any support . She is understanding and gets me extra support on parts that I am struggerling with but she will also explain it to me aswell . She books me on plenty of zooms which each area that I struggle .
I think that my qualification helps me perform better in my role as I have a better understanding of what needs to be done . I also gives me the skills and confidence to be able to grow and tackle anything I come across while cleaning rooms also able to support other members of the team .
We don’t have any extra curricular activities within my organisastion but we have plenty of events that we can attend , like carers days where we can get more help and support to progress within my career and we have team building evenings within our branch every now and again .
Yes
I have worked in a few organisations but have never really felt like I fit in . Whitbread is more than a job it is more like a family , everyone gets on and everyone is supportive and this isn’t just in our branch it is through out all the hotels .
I think the tips and advice I would tell others would be to take every opportunity when it comes up as the support is there . Whitbread are very supportive towards everyone . So if you give your all then the support is there if that is something you would want to do
