My role involves me looking thriugh people's CV's and calling them to get more info, then passing them onto the hiring manager, then booking the interviews, then getting the successful and unsuccessful candidates, then offering to the successful candidates and then giving constructive feedback to the unsuccessful candidates. I also complete offer approvals to send to the onboarding team to create the contracts.
I have learnt all about the recruitment process and what it evolves. I have also learnt how to build relationships with a large variety of people and how to manage them and their expectations. I have learnt how to prioritise tasks and be more organised so my workload in manageable.
I love the programme I am on. It has taught me so much and has given me so many opportunities already. I have just stated my second placement within my apprenticeship which is great to see it from a different side. I love the variety that the role evolves and the challenges.
It is very organised. Everything that I have done so far has been very well organised and their have always been peoole to help me wherever I go to help me with anything I do not understand or anything that is new to me. I had login and phone ready for my first day.
I receive help daily from the team around me. I also have regular meetings with my Tutor, with my manager and also with my apprenticeship provider. Everyone makes me feel like they are there for me all of the time and that I can ask for help whenever I need it.
I meet face to face with my provider every four to six weeks to go though some more content to help me to complete different modules. I then have work to do towards these modules on my uni days. I am able to contact my provider supporter and they will respond very quickly.
I feel the things that my modules cover and i learn about with my training provider all help me to understand the role I am doing a little bit more and this helps me to complete tasks within my role better and more efficiently than I would have prior to learning about it.
I have had a few occasions where I have gone out with work colleagues. this is nice to get to know them on a more personal level and get to know them a little better. Knowing them better helps to build better relationships and therefore work more efficiently as a team.
Yes
Severn Trent is a great company to work for as they have amazing progression opportunities available. I feel like even though i am only six months into my apprenticeship I have progressed already. Severn Trent also has some great benefits available including a share save scheme and an amazing pension scheme.
I would say the best advise is to just be yourself. Before you get to the interview stage you have already been through a multitude of staged where people have assessed you so getting an interview must mean they like you and the skills you have. Make sure you link your skills and experiences to the role you have applied for.
