I am currently working as a Sales order management apprentice where I place orders for my customer and provide them with udates on their orders by completing an outstanding orders report. On a day to day basis I place orders complete the outstanding orders report and reply to customer queries
I have learnt so many new skills since starting this apprenticeship and I have also improved on alot. For example, my confidence has massivel increased due to pushing myself out of my comfort zone to do tasks. The task sheets which I am provided also help to push me as they are designed to make you interact with more people.
I really enjoy my programme as I have met many new amazing people who I work alongside every day. I have also learnt very valuable skills which I will be able to use throughout the rest of my career. The programme is very good at pushing people out of their comfort zones in order to establish growth.
My programme is very well organised as we use an online system where our tasks are set by our coaches and then marked as complete. This makes it very clear what tasks are outstanding and how I can work on these to get back on track. I also have 1-2-1s on a regular basis with my skills coach and we talk through any issues.
I receive alot of support from my employee as they strongly believe it ensuring that their employees have a successful career and help push people in the right directions of doing this. There is lots of different support available within Computacenter such as mental health first aiders who are in place for people to talk to confidentially.
I receive some support. However this could definitely be improved as I have been told that my skills coach is too busy in the past and some of the feedback which I have received on my task sheets is not particularly helpful or specific in what needs to be changed.
My qualification helps me to perform better within my role because it makes you engage with different people across the business to be able to complete each task sheet. For example, I had to learn about finance which is not something that I partake in on a day to day basis.
There are many different activities which people can join in with. For example, I take part in an internal football 5 aside team every wednesday. There are also many networking events which are organised by a team internally which can be with anyone from different businesses or internally. There has also been charitable events in the past which people can take part in.
Yes
Computacenter is very focused on driving success both for the company and their employees. The people within Computacenter are always friendly and helpful and are unlikely to turn you away if you are looking for help. I would recommend this to my friends as this is a very good place to start off your career due to the amount of support that they provide.
Make sure you are focused when completing tasks as this can easily lead to making a mistake if there is no focus. Always try to improve on something even if it is a small task because if you can improve on that you can speed the operation up for example your organisational skills.
