I design kitchens and bathrooms for customers. I sell the designs and organise installs. I oversee the department when the department manager is off. I control the aisles and delegate staff to work stock, check stock and drop stock on their aisles. I oversee the department where installs are concerned
I have learnt how the company works with regards to stock loss, shrinkage etc as well as time management. I learnt how to manage staff, help sort out grievances and how to delegate efficiently. I also learnt how to deal with customers and the complaints they may have. Also, how to deal with accidents in the store
It is a fantastic programme. The amount I have learnt is extensive and the knowledge and experience gained is immeasurable. The apprentices are an amazing opportunity for people of any age and I would highly recommend them to everyone. IT's a very enjoyable experience, even when there are tough sections.
The programme is very well organised and is made as easy as possible for every apprentice to learn and grow. The tutors and online learning is second to none. From level 2 to level 3 and beyond, the programme is amazing and very worth while. The structure of the learning modules is great.
The support from my line manager, store manager and regional manager is excellent. My line manager helps and supports with most things and when there are times when he can't help, my store manager is more than happy to help and, from time to time even the regional manager will help in any way she can.
My training provider is superb. All questions can be answered. The are very big on additional support and if I every had reason to complain, which I haven't, the complaints procedure is easy and can be accessed at any time. I cannot fault them at all. Very very good.
The qualifications have helped me immensely. The knowledge I have gained and the experience I have gained is without doubt invaluable. Not only in my current role but in my future rolls, these qualifications will help me progress and reach the goals I want to achieve. Everyone should do them
As a store we don't have many activities outside of work, but as a department we do socialise as much as we can. This is so helpful as we all get to know each other better and the team building works wonders. This mainly includes an evening at the pub

B and Q have a very good package for employees. From a good pension to shares in the company. The salary is not bad compared to a lot of retailers. They really want people to progress within the company and the apprentice scheme is well worth doing. I highly recommend
Research the company. See just exactly what they offer and what you can achieve. Decide what department you would like to work in and find out what you can by going into store and talking to the colleagues. Also talk to a manager as they can tell you what you can achieve
