I help keep our employees informed with the latest news by distributing communications via email, as well as through regularly updating our internal intranet site and digital signage boards around the building. In my role, we often hear about announcements, projects and initiatives before the rest of the business which is very exciting! One of the best aspects of my job is the opportunity to contribute to important projects such as sustainability initiatives and corporate social responsibility.
I have developed countless personal and professional skills - it would be hard to name them all! I have learnt how to communicate across a range of internal communication sites as well as social media sites. I have also developed my knowledge of Marketing and been able to apply the modules I have learnt from my apprenticeship into my daily work. My role has helped me become more confident and develop good interpersonal skills as I regularly communicate with many different colleagues from across the business.
I enjoy my programme very much as I feel I learn the different modules at a good pace and do not feel overwhelmed balancing the work from my job with the work from my apprenticeship. Christie’s is very accommodating of the number of hours we spend each week on our apprenticeship work so this flexibility has helped me enjoy the programme much more.
My programme is very well structured, I am aware of all the workshops and all of the monthly tasks that I am set, as well as my deadlines which makes it so much easier to organise my time.
I work with such a great team, I feel very grateful. My manager is very supportive of my work and will always make time for me even with her busy schedule! As well as feeling supported, it is amazing to work so closely with someone who has so much experience in the career I am currently working towards, so it is very inspiring and insightful.
I have monthly meetings with my tutor who is always emphasising that they are there whenever I may need some extra support as well as encouraging me to ask any questions if I have any queries.
It definitely helps me perform better in my role as the apprenticeship I have been allocated fits very well with my role in communications. It helps me understand how to communicate to the different audiences I may be reaching out to, as well as understand the different methods of communication and how to track the success of campaigns.
There are so many extra curricular activities that take place at Christie’s. I am with a cohort of around 30 other apprentices and we all get along very well and regularly meet up after work and on weekends. As well as social events, Christie’s often holds networking events, charity events and more opportunities we can all get involved with!
Yes
I would recommend working at Christie’s to anyone as there are so many different departments meaning there are opportunities for everyone to flourish in the role they are in. It is a great place to start your career as the people I work with are all great, the friends I have made are very special to me and I feel I have learnt so much. My experience so far has been very rewarding and I feel lucky that I really enjoy my job - I never want to leave!
Research Christie’s and the role you have applied for, think about why you would be a good asset to the company. Be yourself, be confident and show your eagerness to learn more about the role you have applied for!
