When I come into work I unload the frozen delivery on to trolleys to take out on to the shop floor and put away into freezer cabinets then when the delivery is complete I then scan all the freezers to check for gaps and lows of low or gap I find in the cold room and bring to shop floor and put out
I have learnt so much working for Iceland from customer service / support to learning how the store works and is managed I have developed on my speaking and listening skills and developed on life skills even how to lift a box the correct way and pushing a cage across the shop
I do really like the program it includes you to learn more and more about your job to ensure that you get the best possible experience from your job how to work smarter than harder to make sure I work to the best of my abilities no matter the circumstances
It is structured really nicely in to each week and month of things to be completed and it makes it really easy to navigate through and if it is completed it comes up under another section so you don’t accidentally do the same module more than once set out so anyone with any knowledge could use it
If I need time to do my apprenticeship then I will get the extra time needed if I have any questions I can ask my lifetime coach or my line manager and they help guide me through anything I need help with even if it off the job hours training
If any help is needed I can ask my coach and she will set up a teams meeting so she can walk me through and help with any bits I need help with, I get a lot of help from her whenever I need if you haven’t got a device then one will be provided
I think that ever but of training I do really helps toward my day to day life at work and I learn new things about people and even just how to be faster and more safe in the work environment even if it is just lifting boxes and putting things in freezers
Not that I know of but there could be even if it was helping with plastic recycling or even not letting things go to waste but from my knowledge I don’t think there are any sporting teams or social activities other than our Christmas party once a year that’s all staff are welcome to come to
Yes
It’s a really good environment and good place to start as you get a respected qualification and if you have not passed your GCSEs then you can retake them as I functional skills which makes everything so much more simple as you don’t have to go to a college to Learn the old fashioned way
Be as open and honest as possible as honesty goes along way, respect the people around you even if you don’t like them keep your head down get the work done then you will go far it is a very reasonable and rewarding company to work for even when you don’t have a steady manager
