  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as a Software Engineer working on various different projects for the Client. I have been doing lots of support work also. I attend daily standup meetings with my team, speak with clients on calls and create and action plans on how to improve their apps. I also am a part of the EET team.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my program. I have gained experience in full-stack development and obtained AWS certifications. Additionally, I have completed projects that have led to cost and time savings for your clients so I can see what I do has an impact. I also am able to use many recourses such as Udemy to assist my learning and make it more enjoyable.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well is well structured on the business side and we get reviews every 6 months instead of every year. On the uni side, a lot of changes can happen last minute and we are often not notified about things in a reasonable time. Some decisions made by the university are often questionable.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support is good. There are lots of people put in place to help you. We also have access to 3rd party support such as Udemy, Pluralsight and Coursera. Also there are EET communities within each business unit which helps young people in the company support and help each other.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Not enough in my opinion. A lot of the teaching is delivered in the form of video recordings. And this sometimes can work well however other times the recordings are very poor quality. Contact time with lectures is usually quite limited at around 1 hour per week or every other week but often it is just a Q and A session which I don't find as useful as a lecture or demo.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I do think that some parts of the degree help me in my role. I find it very module specific. Some modules I really enjoy and think they provide a lot of value. Others I feel like its just there for the sake of it and I am wasting my time.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Extra-curricular activities are limited. There are some social events for the EET but they are often only a couple times per year and not expensed. Last year my office location didn't even have a Christmas Party. If you are at a larger office then I believe there are football or rugby teams that you can join.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Capgemini to a friend as they are a fair employer. You will be treated as a person rather than an apprentice or resource. On top of that they offer hybrid working and a good salary for an apprentice with regular pay rises as you progress through the program and improve your skills.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
  • Before applying to Capgemini, research the company and learn about their values, services, clients, and culture. Capgemini values collaboration and teamwork, so make sure to highlight your experiences working in a team and your communication skills. Capgemini values enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, so make sure to convey your passion for the role and your eagerness to learn and grow with the company.
