  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On A day to day biases I serve customers with products they have ordered, get loads ready for delivery by our own wagons and van. I also do P.I. counts dailey which helps keeps the stock levels correct. This helps the branch run smoothly every day and means we can give better customer service.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed working alongside my colleges in different areas of the business from in the office to being out with our HGV drivers for the day learning how things run for them on a day to day biases. This gave me a better understanding of how the business is run as a whole daily.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I felt like the programme was more biased towards office staff and having to do the occasional bit of yard work, I thought is was going to be the other way around with me already being in the yard, I felt there should have been more moduals on product knowledge.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I could always contact my training provider with questions on my course work by emailing them and arranging a video chat with them to go through my questions. I would also have monthly meetings to see how my work was going and ask if i needed any help with things.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel like because it was more of an office biased apprenticeship the chances to better myself in my day to day job role was limited, I did get better communication skills with staff and customers but in terms of learning products the training wasn't that great in terms of that.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We don't have any out of work activities as most of us live quite a distance from each other which makes in difficult for us to arrange things that every one can attend. We do go out once a year for a christmas night out together normally held in Newcastle.
