First when we started our apprenticeship we were based in the Sales role for just over a year. Once the new cohort of apprentices started in the business we moved onto the purchasing half for the remainder of our apprenticeship and there are many thing we do in my role right now such as running reports, create Purchase Orders, cancelling orders etc.
i have learnt and developed many of my skills. For example I started networking loads and joining a lot of networking meetings as this helped build my communication skills and I was also set many goals to try and improve my communication. I also gained skills like time management, decision making etc.
I enjoyed this programme a lot as it was my first time understanding the working environment and the working world and how it feels like to work alongside completing a level 3 apprenticeship and earning. I was very happy with the experience i had and I hope to keep enjoying and learning new things.
My programme is very organised as there is a website where all of our tasks are put there and all of our deadlines so we know how long we have to complete something and on that website we also receive feedback from our coach which is really helpful and there are resources to support us.
I receive the support i need from my employer as for example when i need some extra time or another day to work on my apprenticeship work my manager will allow me to have that to stay on track and complete my work within the set deadlines set by my coach.
I also receive a lot of support from my coach from the training provider. She supports me by giving me feedback on my work so I understand what I am doing correctly and what I could improve on to make it just that little bit better and so it is understandable.
I believe that my qualification helps me to perform better in my role as throughout the different task sheet that I work on I learn more about my organisation - information I didn't know before and because I understand my organisation better I feel like it helps me to perform better in my role.
Yes, there are many different activities to get involved in at work for example networking sessions, sports, conferences etc. These all help to build and improve my different skills such as communicate and feeling more confident for me personally. But these do help others in many different ways and helps us improve.
Yes
they are a good company to work with and there are many different opportunities in the organisation and there are a lot of different things that you can do such as apprenticeships - learning, earning, and having fun with others in the business and gaining a qualification from it with the support of everyone.
I would say talk to anyone you see, introduce yourself and try and push yourself out of your comfort zone. It will feel good and you will feel more confident once you do it a few times you can go up to anyone and talk to them. Also set yourself little goals for you to improve your skills and learn new things.
