My current placement is within the capability centre and ive been working in the digital team. My day-to-day role is often fairly different each day and depends on the progress the team has done and what help they need supporting with.
Ive learnt a lot regarding the digital side of business and how important all these systems are to help people complete day-to-day activities. Ive also learnt a lot about what the business environment is like and the importance of collaborative work.
Ive enjoyed this programme as this was my first full-time job and wasnt sure about what to expect. This programme has been very informative and engaging and i go into work everday looking forward to learning more.
I would say may programme is structured very well and i know how my apprenticeship is going to run. I believe all the key thingshave been thought through and already in place before i started.
There is lots of levels of support during my apprenticeship. An apprentice with Rolls-Royce is set with an Apprenticeship development leader, a mentor, a buddy as well as support from each placement through the line managers as well as other members of the team. So there is lots of support available.
Likewise to Rolls-Royce, there is lots of support available at University. You are matched with a mentor throughout the programme. There is lots of support through services that they offer which can help with subjects as well as the lecturers being very approachable and always available to answer any questions.
I believe that the University Course is very much related to my job role and i feel that i can relate what's being learnt to my job. This helps me to develop in my role as i have knowledge about it which can help me.
Ive not personally yet been apart of any yet but i know that there is lots of groups which you can join and i know my team tries and does a night out of office to get together. So there is lots of options and is something that i may consider in the future.
Yes
I believe Rolls-Royce is a very good company to get into and there is lots of opportunities to progress. The business has a good apprenticeship scheme which helps people adapt to the workplace and gives them the opportunity to learn new skills and develop themselves.
I know Rolls-Royce has many different schemes so i would suggest to always keep an eye out about what is available and always keeping your options open.
