As an SAP Functional consultant your role will involve implementing SAP in different businesses. It needs good communication and trust between yourself and the costumer to work out what is needed to improve their systems. You need to plan and review various outcomes and vision whether it is suitable for the customer.
Yes I’be learnt many skills if i say so myself, particularly when it comes to communication as it does involve talking to various people whether that be people from university or work, there is always social interactions and it helps you learn things from each person that benefits you in some way.
I enjoy the programme due to its flexible nature and the fact no day is the same as the other, you will always have room to grow and learn new things and do new things, if it’s one thing it is not boring whatsoever. It has been enjoyable to also be part of a sort of community too.
I would say it is organised pretty well, each department has its own team lead and you as an apprentice are given a buddy and a reviewer who help you with anything your unsure of and always assess your progress and push you to do better. It is organised in such a way also that everyone gets a reviewer and a buddy.
Support is endless, when you first join Capgemini you are told countless times that you can ask literally anyone for help. The person who will support you most will be your allocated reviewer however who is in charge of foreseeing your progress and helping you in anyway you need essentially.
Support from Aston is good also, your lecturers always encourage questions and are free for quick meetings to help you with anything your struggling to understand. You are also given a sort of reviewer that assess your progress in modules and helps you with anything university related and can help you with the platform Aptem
Essentially Aston provide all the education needed to understand what you need to work towards and the skills you need to have in your role. The skills taught will always help you perform better in any role because it understands the fundamental challenges that come through any role you take in this industry.
There are many extra curricular activities to get involved in at work, whether that be an online event or an organised event in different communities such as a Women in SAP dinner to catch up and network with women in your community. They have charity events and social activities within each community you choose to join.
