Helping teams within children services do their tasks. Sending out different types of letters to many different stakeholders using Microsoft word. Using Microsoft Excel to process data in large quantities regarding children and schools. working with the finance team and raising Purchase orders for invoices. helping out wherever else I am needed.
I have learnt many skills such as gaining confidence, managing my time in a better way, communicating with my co-workers and other members of the council. these skills will help me in my next role. I have also learnt different legislations which help me with my role, ways to be professional and ways to manager my performance
I have enjoyed certain parts of my program which include learning new tasks, getting new responsibilities and working on the end point project which really tested my skills and knowledge. my training provider was able to help me through my apprenticeship learning journey and answered any questions I had quickely.
My organisation has worked well with with the training provider to structure and organise my program in a way I understand what I am doing, when i need to get certain pieces of evidence, i am able to ask my manager or co-workers for help. i also am able to get time for my coursework.
Currently i receive a high amount of support by my employer while completing my apprenticeship, when i have to go to a training session they are able to share my workload with other employees, they are also able to give me extra time when i need it for any evidence i need to do.
i receive a high amount of support from my training provider when working towards my qualification. if i have any questions regarding my apprenticeship or careers they are answered efficiently, they also help me when i am confused with any evidence that i need to collect to complete my portfolio.
In my training sessions we learnt many things such as understanding my organization/employer which helped me understand the workplace more, legislation which helped me be aware of any laws as i work withy a lot of sensitive data and understand personal performance which has helped me manager myself better.
My team sometimes have social activities after work, but within the wider council there are always new events popping up on the intranet which anyone can go to. these can include lessons where people teach their hobbies/skills such as yoga, knitting and netball/sporting sessions for members of any team
Yes
I would recommend the council as there are a lot of skills to learn from working here, these include building confidence and time management skills. there are also a lot of opportunities/jobs within the council and most of the time they are shared internally before shared to everyone else.
Find a job which you think will use your current skills and also benefit you by teaching you extra skills which will help you find jobs in the future this could be within the council or out. of the council. apply for something you know you might enjoy or move forward in.
