I work with my team to provide change for our area of the business. This mainly includes IT driven projects that will help assist my colleagues and drive the business forward. I work with stakeholders both internally and externally to drive these changes. My duties within these projects varies depending on the project itself.
I have greatly improved my leadership qualities throughout the duration of my apprenticeship so far. I now have the ability to run meetings without support and the confidence to deal with any challenges that are brought up within these meetings. My ability to solve problems has also greatly improved and I will think out of the box more than i would have prior to starting this apprenticeship.
I have really enjoyed my programme so far. The projects that I am working on are varied and although its cliché, every day is different. I have been given the autonomy to make decisions on my own and always been made to feel like i am a valued member of my team.
Within my job my programme is organised. I take 20% of my week to complete specific apprenticeship learnings (studying or completing coursework) which helps me to focus on it. However there have been issues with my provided, with courses being delayed at the last minute which has been frustrating, although they have been very good at sorting it all out.
My employer has been excellent. Everyone in my team is always ensuring that i have the right tools to succeed, as well as asking if they had be any assistance to me when completing apprenticeship documents. They are letting me lead, telling them what i need rather than the other way around, which has really helped me in being able to work effectively.
My training provider support has had its ups and downs. There have been a few issues with my advisor leaving and other advisors not working in the same way, which has made my journey a little difficult. However the person that I have now is excellent and is always on hand to provide support if i need it.
It really has helped me in understanding why we do what we do. Understanding the theory behind project management has ensured that I know what documents are important and what should be done and when. It has also given me the confidence in completing some of the documents that maybe haven't been so common to me before.
Yes there are a few. I am part of the wellbeing team and we try to organise at least one event a quarter, with the next event being the Glasgow Kiltwalk. We also do volunteering days in our teams which has been excellent as well as just general social events with the wider team.
Yes
Its an excellent place to work with a great environment and culture. Everyone has been so welcoming and you are encouraged to bring your authentic self to work every day. The support i have received has been great and i feel that i have really been encouraged to develop my true potential.
Be yourself. During the interview process it can be easy to just fill in the questions without any personality, but if you can, try and inject a little into the process, especially the interview itself! Highlight what you can bring to the team along side your winning personality, and you will be great!
