My role as a Shift Manager is to ensure that I push to exceed the customers expectations on every shift by leading a team to achieve company targets.
Yes, I have learnt a lot of leadership skills and have recently passed an external team leading principles course through my workplace.
I really enjoy this programme as it is pushing me towards my future goal of becoming a salaried manager.
My programme is very well structured/organised as I frequently set dates for regular meetings, tests, and learning sessions to focus on areas of weakness to improve further.
I receive a lot of support from my employer as he gives me the time, support, information and opportunities needed to exceed in my programme and at work.
I get a large amount of support as they are on hand 24/7 to help resolve any issues, organise meeting dates, and provide me with the information needed to elevate my progression further.
I t has enabled to to firstly learn new skills which I can implement within my workplace to be a more effective shift manager. And secondly, it has given me the opportunity to progress, mature and support others within my workplace.
In my workplace, I am part of our stores football team. I also involve myself in external activities (i.e. crew parties, managers meetings/days out etc).
