As an Assistant Manager, I support the Business Manager in making sure that the restaurant is running as designed. This entails, training the management team and staff, completing admin work (schedule, inventory, etc), and reviewing KPIs.
I have gained new skills and knowledge since I’ve started the programme. I have learned more about the automation and how it could affect our company.
The programme is created with McDonald’s and how our job role could affect the company and, and our customers. This helps me understand my role better and understand my day-to-day jobs much better.
The degree apprenticeship is organised well. They give us an early timetables which allpws us to plan for our whole year. The modules taught are designed and structured so that we can adapt our learnings to our job and apply it to make our work more efficient and enjoyable.
My employer has been supportive since I started the degree apprenticeship. They understand the concept of off-the-job hours and has always made sure that I get them every week.
Majority of the tutors are supportive and are making sure that we have all the resources we need. On the other hand, you get some tutors who aren’t as supportive and more interested with us completing tasks as suppose to the actual assessments.
It gives me better understanding of the wider industry and why the organisation makes the decisions they did.

McDonald’s have a wide range of apprenticeships available for everyone. Through this, they are able to gain knowledge and skills while they’re earning.
