I am responsible for assisting the management team on a daily basis and sometimes leading areas in the restaurant. I train new starters on the relevant stations and corrective coach existing staff if needed. As well as that, I have to provide additional training to staff that has been with us for a while
I have learnt and developed several new skills. I learned a lot about our stores business side, that I usually did not know about. I learned how to calculate labour costs and how to use KPI. I further developed my management and my leadership skills that are useful every day.
I thoroughly enjoy the programme as I not only learn new skills but develop existing skills. I have learnt a lot about my company by learning how to research about them. As well as developing the above skills, I learned a lot about myself. I learned about my own personality and my leadership style.
My programme is very well structured. I have deadlines for all the different tasks that I have to work towards on my own. Seeing the due date on each task helps me to know when I have to complete them. I also get a full overview of the needed off the job hours.
My employer is very supportive of my apprenticeship and my progress. They give me time off to learn extra tasks, that are needed for my off the job hours and are always there if I have questions about my job role or processes in the company. My mentor is also there whenever I need her.
My training provider is amazing. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], my coach is available when I need her. She books me on extra courses if I need extra support and is to hand when I get stuck somewhere. She regularly checks in with me through their online review appointments or teach and train sessions.
This qualification helps me a lot. I have learned a lot about how to improve my leadership and management skills. I am better at acknowledging different personalities at work and how to motivate them better. By knowing exactly what our food and labour costs are, I can better understand why things are done the way they are.
We usually have a Christmas party and a summer party where everyone comes together as a reward of our hard work during the year. We often take part in communal litter picking. As well as that every restaurant in the company has their own football team that competes against other stores once a year

McDonald's is perfect for people that need more flexible hours than just the standard nine to five shifts. Students can easily work around their college or university lessons and working mums can work around their childcare. An apprenticeship at McDonald's gets paid quite a bit due to getting a standard wage and doing the apprenticeship on the side.
People that want to work for McDonald's should make sure that they always think about customer service. Our customers and their experience are our number one priority. It is also important to remember that, once you get the job, that it is ok to be nervous. Everyone felt like this and you will soon feel like you have never done anything else.
