A day-to-day basis of what my role involves as an apprentice would be to assist on any projects currently working on or ones that are due to begin that I am a part of. It also entails responding to client emails when needed and also communicating well with my team and those I am working with.
I have developed my communication skills during my experience and have also developed new skills that I have not used before in other areas, such as my skills working on different software and apps, advancing my ability within IT. In general I have already grown quite a large amount in my short time with the company.
I would say that I thoroughly enjoy my programme as it incorporates the studying and work side as I feel that this is the best way in which I learn. Everyone is always willing to help you learn which is very helpful when it comes to terminology and how to put the learning into practice.
My programme has a very well organised structure which allows me four days of working and one study day each week and this provides me with enough time to complete my studies and also gives me plenty of experience working on projects that I can use my learning to work on and build my understanding.
I receive any support that I could need from my employer. Whether it is work or study related, I can ask for help and it will be provided within a fast time in order to for me to be able to complete whatever it is that I needed help on.
I can always receive support from my training provider if it is needed. There are forums that students can talk about the work related topics or if you need any extra support, you can contact any of the admins and course providers to receive any extra information or help on any of the topics.
I feel as though my qualification helps me to carry out my role massively as it provides me with the learning and understanding that is needed for me to be able to carry out my role to the best of my ability. Without the training and learning, I would not be able to carry out my role effectively as it would be harder to find the learning elsewhere.
There are lots of extra-curricular activities I am able to get involved in, there are many social activities and networking events, both for everyone and just apprentices. This is a very helpful thing as it allows you to grow connections that can always help you at any given time.

Arcadis is a very welcoming company and provides you with the best environment to learn and grow both on your own and with others in many ways. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a career within construction as it is going to be a place that they can learn, grow and work for many years.
The advice I could give is just go for it, whether you are hesitant at all or not, just apply. I would also say don't overthink anything, whether you are in an interview or answering questions, just be yourself and don't change. Arcadis welcomes everyone and we have the best workforce of any company.
