I am a technical support apprentice. I shadow process technicians to learn how to resolve process issues within the plant. I have done rotations around plant to learn how to operate a variety of machines in each department as well as all the assembly lines.
I have learnt a variety of new skills around manufacturing methods, fault-finding techniques and machine operation. I communicate with lots of different people on a day-to-day basis which has developed my communication skills.
I really enjoy the variety in my role and the regular interaction with many different people
The program could be better organized. I am one of the first apprentices in my company to do this pathway so I am giving regular feedback on how we could be better supported. The communication because the college assessor and company could be better.
I receive the necessary support when required.
I receive lots of support from the training provider. I have a monthly progress meeting and can contact my assessor by phone when required.
The knowledge, skills and principles gained doing the qualification definitely help with the practical tasks and theory that is needed for my role.
I personally have not looked into it so I am not sure. I do plenty of non work related extra curricular activities anyway.
Yes
I have found it a good company to work for and every single person I have met has been pleasant.
Do your research into the Cummins values and priorities, and ensure you align yourself with those. Display enthusiasm and ask lots of questions.
