Business analyst, I assist and maintain any IT systems used by the Ad sales team in Channel 4. I elicit business requirements and document the AS IS and TO BE processes. I work and communicate closely to many stakeholders.
Yes, I have gained major insight and knowledge into the job role. I have a great team that always offer support and their knowledge. The skills I have obtained are: Documenting high and low level requirements, ability to hold workshops, meetings or interviews, creating process diagrams and more
I am really enjoying my job role and the exposure I am gaining. My knowledge grows daily. I enjoy working with many different stakeholders that are within the ad sales and technology teams. I work across and help to maintain two major systems, which is great exposure.
Really well organised! I have a 2 hour lesson every Thursday and every Friday I have a study day where I can complete Off the job training and write up my portfolio. I work at Channel 4 Mon-Thur where I get real life experience.
I get so much support from my employer. I have a Manager who ensures my apprenticeship is on track and going well. I also have 2 mentors I work with both of them on separate projects. One of those mentors also helps me with my study work and ensures I understand the course and my other mentor teaches me all about the current systems I work on. its a great team! We also get lots of apprenticeship opportunities like lunch and learns and other valuable lessons.
Every 6 weeks I have a 1:1 meeting with my apprenticeship provider mentor. They check that the course is going smoothly and if I need any additional help. They also set me targets and work for me to achieve which helps with my development. My teacher also sets a questionnaire after every lesson so they can see if I understood the topic we were learning that day, on this I can also request additional help
My gaining knowledge through my training provider helps me understand my job role better. I also feel more confident to contribute to projects as I have the knowledge to do so.
There are lots of apprenticeship opportunities at work as well as social gatherings. This is both internal and external. I've also been able to go to conferences and workshops to help increase my knowledge. Some examples of these are: BARB boot camp conference, TV master course (duration of 9 weeks), Blue works lives webinars. I have also had the opportunity to present in an online webinar for women in IT. There are many networking events not just internally but also externally where we can meet other apprentices in other firms.

Be yourself, and show what you are good at whether it relates directly to the job role or not.
