  • As an IT Technical Salesperson, you are responsible for managing and procuring your customers IT estates. I was in the corporate sector, meaning all of my customers were businesses (Ltd's).

  • I have developed better social skills and I have learnt so much about IT and the IT industry.

  • I could not fault it!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Considering we were the first softcat apprenticeship intake to work with firebrand, they definitely took on board our critiques & changed the structure to a much better way - could not fault them for their efforts in helping us!

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Such great managerial support, and great personal development plans - also very frequent 1-1's with my managers.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Not so much the training providers themselves, but our learning mentor was great in helping us with any questions.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Not particularly useful, as some of the IT things were VERY technical for our job role, but the sales training was great.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes - I am apart of the green team, supporting women in business & pride network.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Softcat to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Softcat is truly like no other company - they treat their employees like family. My family & friends are jealous that they do not work in Softcat as they have seen how well we are treated. I really am Softcat's biggest advocate!


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Softcat?
  • BE YOURSELF. Softcat would look at your potential and help you grow into full authentic self. They take people on for personality & if you fit the 5 values of softcat - Fun, Passionate, Intelligent, Community & Responsible.
