Yes, coming from a very different background I have learned many new skills. In particular the use of design softwares including autoCAD and Revit. As well as developing soft skills like my presentation and communication skills.
I really enjoy my apprenticeship programme so far and enjoy working in the atmosphere of our office.
My company has structured the programme well, however with the training provider additionally it is currently slightly confusing. There is a lot of different people to report to and I then sometimes feel confused as to who I should be communicating with depending on the situation at hand.
I have receiver a lot of support from my employer and fellow employees. Helping with my work along with giving support for my college work and everyone is always happy to help.
So far (6months) my training provider has changed due to illness so I have not received much support.
I think it helps me raise awareness to the aspects I need to improve upon, particularly soft skills. However, so far it hasn’t hugely helped with the technical aspects of my role.
There are regular social events every few months and plenty of invites to external networking events.
Yes
It has a supportive atmosphere and feels as though you are among like minded peers. So far I feel I have learned many skills in a short time period and am looking forward to continuing my time there.
To be honest with your experience and show your interest and enthusiasm for the role through the application and interview process of you don’t have much experience.
