I have learnt alot of new skills which make me a better shift manager within the company I work for. It's not only helped me but it has helped me help other staff members. It's made me an overall better manager which makes my job more enjoyable which I like.
I really enjoy this program because I am learning new skills every single time. I also enjoy this program because it has made be more organised which I struggled with for a long time. It also makes me really excited for the future and what I can achieve when I put my mind to it.
I feel that this program is well organized but there are some stuff they need to work on. For the first 6 months I didn't have a coach and didn't really get alot of support. They need to assign a coach as soon as the apprenticeship starts as it's easy to fall behind without a coach.
It can be hit and miss with this. Sometimes my employer just thinks it's a little qualification and I can do most of this in my spare time which isn't the case. Sometimes I will be scheduled a late shift before my apprenticeship day which leads to me being tired for the class.
At first I had no help for the first 6 months. But the trainer Chris I have now has been excellent. He supports me with anything I need and puts my training first. He's even willing to travel to come see me and help me with anything I need.
As a shift manager I am constantly working with different types of people and have to deal with different kinds of situations. It's helped me deal with different personalities and situations. My shifts are running alot smoother and I'm able to deal with problems alot easier without alot of stress.
Every year we have two events called the mccup and the mclympics. The mccup is a five a side football team which we compete against other restaurants and the mclympics is a olympic style day which we all compete against each store for victory. I compete in both these each year.

I would recommend this company because they are very flexible to your needs. Whether you want part time employment or full time. It's also an excellent career path and you can work your way up quite easily. Once your to a management level it's am excellent career to have.
When applying for McDonald's I would recommend have an very open mind because every day is not the same. I'd also recommend having a very open availability as you will be required to work a variety of different shift including over night shifts. And also to be a good people person.
