I work in Accounts Payable and Tax, my usual day consists of processing invoices, answering customers emails, reconciling statements and assisting my manager with their workload and anything else they need help with.
I have developed my public speaking skills throughout the apprenticeship program as well developing my presentation skills as I have had to present in front of other apprentices.
I very much enjoy my programme, Softcat has been very welcoming and supportive to me and Corndel are very helpful when it comes to completing my apprenticeship work.
Corndel have created a very well organised programme, we have a 1 to 1 every month which helps us complete our work and lets us ask any questions we need to ask. The group sessions are very informative and helpful in assisting us in developing new skills.
Softcat is very supportive towards me completing my apprenticeship. They have matched me with a previous apprentice who answers all my questions and helps with my work and all my colleagues are more than happy to assist me with anything I need to complete.
Corndel give me a lot of support in completing all my tasks and taking steps towards my qualification as they give me regular 1-to-1s and I can contact them anytime I want and receive any support I need.
Working towards my qualification has helped me to build my confidence with people and helped me to say no to people when I have too much on my plate. It has also helped with mastering excel, word, powerpoint and outlook which are very important in my role.
I am involved in 3 different groups these consist of the film club, the gaming club and the investors club, I will also be trying to get involved in the chess club and the foodies club. There are also lots of sports clubs such as football and cricket.
Yes
Because everyone is extremely supportive and helpful and make you feel like an important part of the team from the moment you sit down at your desk. The culture is really good and something is always taking place that you can get involved in.
We are very IT and customer service centred so make sure you have an interest in that. Research the company and its history. Make sure to be yourself, show off who you are and what you can bring to the culture of the company.
