I receive new enquiries daily, I am responsible for setting up the cases on our system as well as forwarding the information to the solicitor and then contacting the enquirer. I am also responsible for sorting all correspondence and uploading it to the correct file. Furthermore I receive the mail and ensure it is sent to the correct solicitor as well as the file. Also uploading and paying invoices.
I have developed many existing skills including delegating and prioritising tasks. Daily I need to sort tasks in order or importance and ensure that every task is done and to a timely manner, also if I know I am too busy to complete all tasks that day I am able to delegate a task to my colleague. I have also learned many new IT skills and communication skills, by being on the phone with clients has increased my confidence and ability to communicate effectively with clients and my team.
I thoroughly enjoyed the programme. I didn't feel overwhelmed with the workload and there was always help from my colleagues and the apprenticeship providers. There were multiple workshops that I attended and I feel that they have taught essential skills including tips for using word and excel as well as IT software information.
My programme was very well organised, at the beginning of my apprenticeship I had a meeting with my apprentice supervisor where we selected what training I wanted to receive as there was multiple options I could choose. This ensured that I was passionate about everything I was learning. I was also able to track my progress online which was a great feature.
I received a lot of support from my employer, if I had any queries I was able to ask anyone for help and they wouldn't hesitate. They also ensured that my workload was a manageable amount so that I wasn't overwhelmed with the apprenticeship work and my daily tasks.
I received a lot of support, after I was sent the work if I had any issues or questions I was able to contact her at any time to ask questions or arrange a meeting. I was also able to send her the work after I had completed it and ask for feedback before I submitted it for grading.
As I am an administrator I feel the qualifications have helped me a lot. I have learned many new skills as well as how to use software more efficiently, I am able to complete tasks quicker and to a higher standard following the training. I am also more confident within myself and I am able to provide assiatnace to my colleagues on IT as I have had the training
Within my workplace there are volunteering opportunities to help fundraise for our chosen charities. We also have multiple social events which allows all teams to meet up, due to us working from home it ensures that we remain in contact with other colleagues and it helps us stay strong as a team.
Yes
I would recommend Irwin Mitchell due to the support that they provided and the progression opportunities it offers. I feel I was well supported and was not overwhelmed. There is a great atmosphere and community feeling within Irwin Mitchell which was welcoming and it always an enjoyable atmosphere to work in.
The main piece of advice would be to ask questions, by asking questions I was able to understand the terminology as well as get comfortable in my role quicker which meant that I was able to complete tasks without any assistance. I would also advise to be pro-active as it shows you are keen and understand the job that you are doing.
