My role as customer experience includes a variety of different daily tasks, including project based work and communicating and working collaboratively with many other teams. The main project I am working towards is the build of the annual Customer Experience Survey. This has involved pulling customer data, creating internal and external communications, and being creative with the survey itself.
I have developed my skills with platforms such as Microsoft Excel due to training from my manager and colleagues. I have also noticed a massive increase in my confidence since starting the apprenticeship, and am becoming confident in the work I am doing surrounding this years Customer Experience Survey Build.
I am really enjoying my experience of the apprenticeship so far. It has been well organised and I feel well supported by my organisation and apprenticeship provider Corndel. Alongside this, I have made so many good friends through doing the apprenticeship at Softcat and find this really valuable when looking back over the course so far.
I find the programme to be really well structured and organised. We have access to a platform called Aptem, provided by Corndel, and on this we can see all the work required of us over the whole apprenticeship course with a clear timeline and what work/ evidence we need to provide.
I receive a good amount of support from my employer with my apprenticeship and the day to day tasks of my job role, and how to balance these effectively. My manager is always keen to offer support with the work I need to complete for the course, and I know that if I need help she is happy to be there and support.
I receive a good amount of support from my training provider Corndel. We have monthly 1-2-1's and quarterly progress reviews, so I feel that there are definitely a good amount of support of touch points. I also know that I can reach out to my training provider if I have any questions or require any additional support, and they are always happy to support where needed.
The qualification I will receive through my training provider is not specific to my role as a Customer Experience Apprentice, however the Business Admin course covers all the basics of working in an office environment, and teaches us about all aspects of business as a whole. This helps me have a good starting point to progress well in my role.
There are often team lunches and nights out, end of quarter drinks and meals and incentive trips. There hasn't been much specifically for apprentices, however there is loads to get involved with company wide. I am also aware that some of the other apprentices set up and 6 a side team for a local football league.
Yes
I would definitely recommend Softcat to a friend. Since starting I have felt so welcomed and as if I have found my place, I can't see myself working anywhere else now and will be going for a full time role once I have completed my apprenticeship course later on this year.
My advice to someone applying to Softcat would simply be to be yourself and give it your all. Softcat has proven such a great place to work so applying here is giving yourself such a great opportunity. My advice would be to just be confident, polite and talkative and this will get you far.
