I oversee teams of people responsible for hotel reservations, table bookings and feedback for our pubs and bars. This involves overseeing the day-to-day running of the departments, providing training and support for the teams, including the appraisal process and implementing new processes and procedures in line with the company vision and strategy
I've learnt so much already from my programme, and I'm just over two thirds of the way through. I've grown in confidence and developed a better working relationship with my team. Understanding how different leadership styles and skills suit different situations and individuals has really helped me become a more confident leader
I really enjoy my programme, especially the mixture of classroom based, online and independent learning. I can easily fit this into both my work and personal life
The structure is great and very well organised, I'm never unsure of what I am doing and know where to go for help
I have fantastic support from my employer, I have sufficient time and space to carry out my work and have been offered support to integrate my new learnings into my role
I have good support from Lifetime,
I feel that the skills and knowledge I have picked up throughout my course are all beneficial to my role and my own development. They are all relevant and I can apply my learning every day
Yes, there are plenty of extra-curricular activities and I am often more prone to being one to arrange these, particularly from carrying out this course
Yes
The vision and strategy of Marston's is all about the people within it, both employees and customers alike. It is a fantastic, people-focussed place to be
I would advise that you get from the company what you put in, they do care about the people within it and want to invest in internal development, just give that same commitment back to really get the most out of your time here.
