  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • At the moment, I have been taking part in my training at Kaplan - so the vast majority of my time has been classroom based. This has been fantastic, as it has allowed me to feel prepared for my exams.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • As I did not have any previous experience in a finance based role (and didn't study anything of relevance at university), everything has been new to me. At a minimum, my maths skills have developed significantly.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have loved my programme so far. Although very highly pressured, and tough at times, it has been really rewarding to watch my skills and knowledge develop.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well structured, with classroom based days and exams booked in at regular intervals. There is a nice mixture of in-person learning, learning online and self-managed learning.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has been fantastic. They have supported me throughout the programme

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have had contact from my training provider on a daily basis. Through a mixture of tutor-led sessions, meetings with my learning mentor and catch-up emails - Kaplan have been very supportive.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Although I have not yet fully started my role, I know that the skills and knowledge that I am gaining will be vital in my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lots of sports teams that you can join, as well as regular professional networking events. Most weeks, there is an event happening in the office that is open to all to attend.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • PWC have been a fantastic employer to me so far. Although they expect a lot of hard work from you, they will reward you for your time. PWC are also very ethically driven, with values that align with a forward thinking company.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Just be yourself - PWC are looking for people from a range of backgrounds. I joined as a career changer, having been a primary school teacher for years! PWC aren't interested in only hiring finance graduates, so let them know about your unique experience!
