Day to day I start off with a stock check where I make sure that all the stock is correct, then after I have completed that I would go to the back counter where I serve the mechanics who are needing the parts where I ensure they get the correct parts quickly and efficiently.
Some of the skills that I have learnt from the apprenticeship so far are teamwork and also a greater understanding on how trucks work and also where to find the parts on the online system as when I first started I couldn’t find almost anything on the online system
So far with my apprenticeship I have enjoyed it as it gives me some structure to my day and also gives me a good experience of what working life is like. The people I work with as well are helpful as they realise I haven’t got experience in this industry
The structure of the programme is good. You get an email every so often saying that I have a lesson with the people at remit where they give lessons and ensure the work you’re doing is correct. they have also sent me on a 2 day course at their college.
I have no complaints from the support I have got from my employer, they help me as much as they can and also show me how the parts work and where they go. If I am struggling with something they have made it very easy just to go and ask about it
When working towards my qualifications every few months I have an online lesson via teams with my tutor and he ensures that I am doing everything correctly. Also we frequently have a progress review with my manager to get a better understanding of what my day to day jobs are and also to make sure I'm doing well
The training that i have had through my qualification has helped as i now have a greater understanding of how the parts are produced and arrive to our depot, from when i went to the college in derby i have got a greater understanding on what the parts are and what the parts i sell every day do
there are lots of opportunities at Motus for example over the summer we are having a footballing tournament with the other depots around the country which I believe to be a good bonding activity and also a good chance to meet people who I may have interactions with over the phone in person
Yes
I would recommend Motus commercials to a friend as they help people who don't have experience in the area and make sure that they are comfortable with what they are doing before they get you to do it yourself. I would also recommend as you don't know what each day will bring every day is different
To apply my best advice is to email Motus directly and say why you think you would be a good fit, when I tried applying through indeed I didn't get a response but I did quite quickly through emailing them directly. Send over a CV and a cover letter.
