My role involves auditing a variety of clients at different stages of the audit process. I am responsible for taking ownership of my work and also ensuring that I provide adequate coaching and support to my peers. During the day i get to interact with project managers and the senior managers.
I have learnt a wide variety of skills that helped me to succeed in my career and also to work on more challenging part of my job. The skills include a combination of both soft skills and hard skills. The involve being good at excel and also communication with the client.
I really enjoyed being part of this programme and the firm which is a Best Employer. The programme has challenged me to take ownership of my own development and also learn how I can better perform my tasks. Finally the programme also gave me a better network which I can reply on.
The programme is really well structured and the exams are also divided by equally throughout the year which allows us to gain the practical experiences and also gian the theoretical knowledge. The programme also give a clear timeline of when we are expected to meet certain milestones which is also very nice.
Working at a Best Employer meant that I was able to receive a wider range of support from a lot of my my colleagues and managers. Apart from that, the firm's healthcare plan allowed me to get the right medical attention whenever i needed them which is very much appreciated.
The training provider was very helpful and the tutors also answer all of my questions. During the training period, we were given regular tests which allowed us to get an understanding of where we are at and what are our strengths. The tutors were also very supportive if we needed any help.
The qualifications have a very important impact on our role as auditors since they give a degree of credibility to our opinions and what we do as accountants. The qualification allows us to gain the technical knowledge which is very important when working on a large client spanning different locations.
As a Best Employer, PwC is very well know for the extra curricular activities that it organises at regular intervals. The activities range from the monthly informal lunches to special events after a quarter. We also have office events which gave us the opportunity to gel as a group and also meet new people.
