My primary role is supporting the sales team whilst learning the pertinent skills to become a Savills estate agent. My day to day will involve shadowing my colleagues on viewings and their sales progression; applicant call out strategies and market research to inform buyers and sellers.
Savills are very particular about how they approach client interaction and delivery of service. During my apprenticeship I have learnt how to deliver exceptional service to both buyers and sellers. It has been a useful experience in developing my interpersonal skills and has improved my knowledge of the property industry.
The training providers are attentive and provide good guidance. I enjoy working with my colleagues; the company employees well and everyone is an expert at what they do. I think that my experience would be more enjoyable if there was more structure on the progression as an apprentice.
Savills does outline the end goals of the apprenticeship well. I think there could be more structure for progression within the office. Setting milestones at different points of the apprenticeship would provide both the managers and the apprentice with a rough guideline of how the apprentice should be progressing.
Both my managers and the apprentice coordinators are readily available to contact if I need any help. Savills also provides a good amount of opportunity to expand your skills outside of your role e.g. networking events.
My training provider is very helpful and has provided great assistance since starting my apprenticeship in September 2022
The qualification has helped to reinforce the practical experience I get in the office. However, a lot of what I learn with the training provider I learn much more effectively by working in the office.
There are plenty of opportunities for networking within Savills. These events provide a good opportunity to get to know employees outside of your office. Being out of Head office is a little more challenging to get involved with sports teams.
